A Piggy, Food, and Kampen

I've been a bit preoccupied the last few weeks, but here's an update on some of the things I did.

I spotted piggy artwork near the train station!

Our favorite restaurant closed last year, but the owners of that restaurant have another one, so we visited it to see if the food is as yummy as it was in the other. (It is!)

I got to eat strawberry ice cream with real strawberries in it.

We also made a trip to Kampen to visit family.

It was a lovely day so we walked from the station to our destination.

We did some sightseeing along the way.

I think this gate is really cool!

At the end of the afternoon I had a bottle of Blind Pig cider before we had to catch a train back home.

A New Friend and Yummy Food

Last weekend we went to Kampen for a birthday dinner.

I made a new friend there:
Candy the pug.

Candy is a very friendly pug and we had lots of fun together.

I got to eat clams.
They were very yummy.

Candy tried one as well.

I wasn't so sure about the next course even though my owner said it was venison.

Mushrooms! That's more like it.

Candy liked the French fries the best.

But that's not a French fry!

Candy gave the pencil to her owner who used the pencil to draw pictures of us.

Next we got to select dessert.

Candy picked a mug full of ice cream with whipped cream on top.

I got chocolate ice cream with vanilla sauce. Yum!

Kampen at night!

It was a really fun evening with very yummy food!

Another Halloween Party

Today we went on a trip.
My owner told me to wear my mummy costume.
On the trainride I got coffee and a pastry thingie with cherry-filling. Yum!

I know this tower!
This is the St. Nicholas Church in Kampen!

It turned out we were going to visit my good friend Witje. He was celebrating Halloween as well. And look what a cool mask he had!

There were lots of other animals at the party as well.

And special Halloweenish chocolate!

And I got to play a fun game!
This is the character I played in the game: an elvish wizard who could cast fireballs and such.

The characters had to find treasure and fight monsters in a creepy dungeon. My elf got to fight giant spiders and ghouls. It was lots of fun.

In the evening we had to go home again.
It was a really great day!

A Sheepish Visitor

Yesterday I got a visit from my good friend Witje.
He came all the way from Kampen by train.

We had a great day together.
We talked and ate Groninger Turf (a kind of cake).
In the evening Witje went back to Kampen again.

The Presents Just Keep on Coming

My owner isn't doing anything fun at the moment as she got a cold, but luckily for me something fun happened today: There was another package!

There was a really cool pig card on top! It says: Hey, party pig, congratulations from Kampen.

It turned out to be from Witje the sheep.
I met him last year when we were in Kampen. He tells me he was sorry he couldn't come to my birthday.

The package contained stuff for baking muffins and such. I think it's close to baking soda if I understand correctly and my owner and me can use it to make the perfect fluffy muffins next time we bake.

And there were two presents!

It was a piggy pen and a piggy keychain. Their noses light up and they oink when you push on their heads! Aren't they awesome?!

Witje: many thanks for the cool presents.
We'll try to remember to take pictures next time we bake muffins.

Temporary House and a Trip

We got the keys of the temporary house we have to move to, so we went over there today to take a look.

Empty houses have something weird I think.

The kitchen.

One of the bedrooms. They had left a moving box there, I think we can use it for our move.

The central heating had a weird display thingy called a 'ClimaRad' which had lots of extra functions. My owner tells me they will build a 'ClimaRad' in our house too.

Well, it may not be home, but it's good enough to live for a couple of months.

After looking at the temporary house my owner and me went to the mother of my owner to borrow her car so we can use it to move boxes. We took the train to get there.

The station where we got on the train is build over a road and there are windows in the station so you can look down on the road from the station: very strange!

We had a fun afternoon at the house of my owner's mother and I had a look outside at the dyke.

And I lounged among the flowers.

We went out for dinner in Kampen at a Chinese wok-restaurant and I had cassava crackers.

And ice cream with strawberries and mellon. Yum!

After dinner we took the car to Groningen, but not before I spotted this banner with this fish, who is very famous in Kampen.
You can read more about this famous fish in another post I made about Kampen last year here
