Catching Up

I've been lazy so here's a catch up on things I did these last few weeks.


we had a Halloween party where my owner dressed up as a wild boar!


We also baked a pumpkin pie.


And we had roasted chestnuts.

I got gingerbread cookies at work.
It was a gift to show us they appreciated all the hard work we do.


Jeffe sent us this really cool Day of Dead candy skull!


Yesterday we went to the movies with a colleague and saw The Last Witch Hunter.
It was a really cool movie!


Today at work there was a celebration and we got a bag full of oliebollen.


And when I got home there was mail waiting for us.
We won these cool bookmarks in a giveaway by Linda Poitevin. Her The Grigory Legacy series is a really awesome series, so we're very happy with these bookmarks.

A Witchy Halloween

Yesterday it was Halloween and although my owner had to work, she got to dress up, because there was a Halloween Costume Contest at work. The people who looked the scariest would win a prize! I helped her search for a costume.


She dressed up as a scary, green-faced witch!


To add to the scare factor, there were spiders on her veil.

And my owner won a prize!
She got two movie tickets. I am proud of her. The really yummy candy spider wasn´t part of the prize, but too cool to leave out in my opinion.


We took some pictures of our coworkers, but forgot to ask most of them if we could post their picture online, so here´s the one person we did ask. I love the scary mask!


When we got home there was a Halloween card from Jerry and Ben, it arrived exactly on Halloween. Great timing.

Another Halloween Party

Today we went on a trip.
My owner told me to wear my mummy costume.
On the trainride I got coffee and a pastry thingie with cherry-filling. Yum!

It turned out we were going to visit my good friend Witje. He was celebrating Halloween as well. And look what a cool mask he had!

There were lots of other animals at the party as well.



And special Halloweenish chocolate!

And I got to play a fun game!
This is the character I played in the game: an elvish wizard who could cast fireballs and such.

The characters had to find treasure and fight monsters in a creepy dungeon. My elf got to fight giant spiders and ghouls. It was lots of fun.

In the evening we had to go home again.
It was a really great day!

Early Halloween

This evening we had an early Halloween celebration, but first we went into town to see if I could find a costume.

At the store where they sell party stuff and costumes we saw the piggie banks and champagne bottles that my owner's OtherHalf made the drawings for.

And I spotted this pig at another store!

When we got home there was a card reminding us that Heart of Steel by Meljean Brook will soon be released. Voodoo Bride was all happy with this card and is still hugging it. I myself can't understand what all the fuss is about.

We didn't manage to find a cool costume in the stores, so finally my owner made me a costume:

The Mummy!

I really like my costume.
Mummies are a kind of zombies I think.

Our celebration was lots of fun too, but we didn't take any more pictures. I hope everyone has a really cool Halloween!

Cool Poster and Halloween Party

Look what I got in the mail today:

Tonight we're having a Halloween Party. Because of all the painting and stuff I didn't have time for making a costume, but there will be pumpkins and pumpkin soup.

Halloween!

Yesterday we had a Halloween party! My owner made me my own pirate costume that I got to wear all evening.

We had pumpkin soup and pumpkin pie and we carved scary pumpkin faces.

Here I am with my brother Angus, who also got a pirate costume.

We were joined at the party by this spider and bunny who came to the party together with their owners.

All the people at the party were dressed up too: My owner dressed up as a pirate just as me and Angus.

It was a fun party, we ate lots of yummie things, played games and chatted a lot with the spider and bunny.
Too bad Halloween is only one day a year.

Pumpkin Pie!

Another post so soon? Yes!
As I don't think I have time to blog tomorrow I wanted to post the making of our pumpkin pie now!

First we started out with the ritual slaughtering of the pumpkin!
After that we cooked the pumpkin together with my owner's not so secret ingredient: apples.

While the pumpkin and apple mix was cooking we made the pie-dough from flour, butter, water and a little sugar.

When the dough was ready we lined the pie-form with it. Then we put it in the oven for awhile.

When the pumpkin and apples were ready we mashed them to a pulp, but as it was very watery we then put it in a piece of linen cloth and squeezed most of the water out of it so we were left with:

A nice dry pumpkin/apple paste.

We mixed the paste with eggs, brown sugar, spices (nutmeg, cinnemon and gingerroot powder) and a little bit of Sherry.

And we put the mix in the pie form!
Now just 40 more minutes in the oven and what will we have: Pumpkin Pie.
Might not look as pretty as in the pic of the recipe, but tastes delicious.
