Work and Renovation

It was nice and sunny weather today, but me and my owner had to work. Luckily I could enjoy the sun during our breaks which we spend outside at the picnic table next to the building where we work.

On our way home I checked up on the progress of the renovation in our neighbourhood. It's still a long way from finished. In July our house is going to be renovated.

Beautiful Weather, Wild Pig and a Little Hippo

It was beautiful weather today, but we had to work! Luckily it was still warm and sunny when we finished working.

After work we went to the store to get groceries for dinner and they had Wild Pig again.
So tempting........

At home there suddenly was a new addition to our household: this little hippo. He is very shy so we haven't found out his name yet or where he came from. Maybe my owner's OH knows more, so we'll ask him when he gets home.

Sunny Groningen

As Urok Burok already said in a comment to an earlier post: Today it was really nice and sunny weather again, so me and my owner went into town after work together with a good friend of my owner.

First picture I want to show you is of the Martini Tower again, from yet another angle.

This strange fake bunker is standing at the Ossenmarkt (Ox market) at the moment. It's a multimedia expo that's about WWII.

Home and soaking up the last few rays of the sun before it sets.

Fickle weather and candy

This picture was taken yesterday morning, as you can see it was beautiful, sunny weather and for today they gave a simular forecast.

Hmmm..... Sunny: no. Beautiful: I think so anyway.
All in all it was windy today and it even rained when we went home.

I can hear some of you thinking: 'What's Sullivan doing with pieces of chalk?'
Actually this is candy, liquorice to be exact! It is made to look like pieces of school chalk, but in fact the outside of the candy is a layer of something minty and inside it's soft. They're very tasty and I got these from my owner today.

Stuff...

Here are the things that I bought this saturday. A new book and the piggy I told you about.
The book is about a cat who's raised by mice and is called 'The cat who thought he was a mouse'.

Another beautiful day today. Can you spot the crow? There were several flying around, but just one was kind enough to pose for this picture.

Lots of pictures today

It was another lovely spring day so after a relaxing morning we went out for a walk this afternoon. As you can see I enjoyed myself with some sunning among the flowers.

Me and Coco taking a short rest.

The sheep were also enjoying the lovely weather.

More clouds and a little bridge across the 'Reitdiep'.

Sun, flowers and a happy McPig.

Checking out a rusty part of a fence. I hope it will hold or the farmer who's fence this is will lose his sheep.

Another break, this time in Garnwerd, the far end of our trip.

On our way back we past this old church in Oostum. It's really beautiful and has a small graveyard so we went there to check it out.

At the back of the church there were some wooden chairs.
I tried one out, but it was a bit big for me.

I love the old and weathered look of these tombstones.

Allthough some are so weathered that you can hardly read them anymore.

I've been told that at one time in history they started charging taxes for every window a house had. Churches had lots of windows ofcourse so a lot of the churches sealed up windows to save on taxes. It seems they also did that at this church.

Rain and Work

All the snow is already gone again and it was raining most of the day today.
There was also a very nasty, cold wind which I could feel when sitting next to the window.

Luckily I got a large glass of hot tea from my owner to get warm again, but drinking it was a challenge I can tell you.

The rest of the day I spend guarding the spoons as we only have a few of them left at the catering. It seems like people just take the spoons with them for whatever reason.

Rain.......

I had wanted to take a short walk around the neighbourhood but as you can see in the picture below it is cold and wet today (well, you can't actually see it's cold, but believe me on this).

So I'm going to spend the day reading.
According to my owner this book with short stories is worth a try.
