Fun at Noorderspel

Yesterday we went to the A-Church in the center of town.

There was a game convention: Noorderspel.
My owner and I always help at Noorderspel to sell games to the visitors of the convention.

There were lots of cool games.

And I got to meet a monster!

It was a really fun and busy day, we didn't have much time to tour the convention, there were too many people who wanted to buy games, so we didn't take anymore pictures of the convention.

We did receive a goodiebag with games at the end of the day.
How cool!

While we were resting from a day of selling games we did take some pictures of the beautiful A-Church.

It was a really fun day!

Churches - Berlin

On our last day in Berlin it was sunny again, so we decided to make the most of our morning before we had to catch the train back home.

We went into town and I spotted a bear statue.

And a church.

It was a very beautiful church in my opinion.

It was being renovated though.

On the other side of the square was an almost identical church!
I think they build two churches because the Germans and the French didn't want to go to the same church together.

Whatever the reason, it was a beautiful square with those two churches and the statues and other stuff.

Potsdam - Part 4: Blue Skies!

On our way back to the station I spotted this gate.

And then...

The clouds broke and the sun came out!
Immediately the humidity cleared up and the heat became bearable.

I took advantage of the blue skies to take some more pictures of the buildings we saw earlier in the day. With the blue sky they suddenly looked very different in my opinion.

Potsdam - Part 1

On Friday, July 17, we went to Potsdam, a small city next to Berlin.

It was a hot day, but there were also clouds, which made it a very humid day.

We visited the St. Nicholas church.

There was a cool skull statue.

This is the ceiling of the church.

Next we visited the Dutch neighborhood.
This neighborhood was build for Dutch immigrants from what I understand.

This looks kind of familiar.

I spotted another church, but that didn't look Dutch.

Then we walked some more and found this gate!

And a cool warning sign that tells you to watch out for trams.

Berlin - Gedächtniskirche

The first thing we visited on Thursday was the Gedächtniskirche.
This church was damaged in WWII and stands as a reminder of the destruction war can bring.

We tried to visit this church last time we were in Berlin, but they were busy with upkeep and restoration, so it was packed in plastic and such. Now we could finally see it.

Inside the church there are massive displays on the ceiling.

And there are some cool statues

I especially loved the angry birds.

Angry bird king.

Next to the damaged church they build a new one.
The tower of that church is being renovated at the moment, so now it's that church that's hard to see.
