Gilbert: What I've been up to - part 1

 

In November I rcceived Beanie Mail!

I won a prize at Bus Bingo!

Beanie was a bit concerned because Sullivan was supposed to get a package as well.

My owner bought us a marzipan piggy 

We went on an outing with friends to an indoor playground.

The menu promised me Truffle Fries, but it turned out they were sold out.

My owner was still tired of being ill earlier that month so while the others went jumping on trampolines we had a drink and looked at the antics of our friends.

10 days after I received my Beanie Mail, Sullivan's package turned up: opened and with a new address sticker, but his prize was in there: a magnetic Marx Puppet!

We went into town at the end of November, because according to my owner Sinterklaas gave her some money to get us books! After book shopping we went to cafe Hooghoudt for a drink. 

And a Vlammenkouk. Yum!

I also accompanied my owner to work a lot. It was getting colder, so I got out my hat.

After Sinterklaas we went shopping for a Christmas Tree. And we had a look at all the cool decorations at the garden center while we were there anyway.

\I spotted a cool hippo seat!

I'm getting a little hungry.

After our shopping we got an oliebol and hen went home to go decorate out tree. 

An Update from Gilbert

 

I haven't blogged in a while so it is time for an update.

Last month I went out for dinner to the Korean restaurant.

I got to eat squid!

And I had a Wasabi Martini of course!

I've been accompanying my owner to work. On our way home we often pass this cool building with a big chimney with lights on it.

There's also an awesome mural at the building.

We received an early Sinterklaas/Christmas present last week.

And Sinterklaas left marzipan piggies in our shoe a couple of days ago.

He also brought us book-shaped presents!

Oh, I saw the movie Dune not long ago. I wonder if I'll like the book better than the movie. Sullivan says I need to see the old movie, which is awesome in his opinion, but first we'll read the book together.

Gilbert: Sinterklaas

Before continuing with the trips we made when we had family staying over in October, I bring you a Sinterklaas interlude.

Sinterklaasavond, or Saint Nicholas Eve is on December 5th. People get presents from Sinterklaas on that day or sometimes on a day close to it if not everyone can make it on the 5th. And sometimes people get presents twice!

But first:


My owner got me a horse!
The horse is called Amerigo and is a relative of Sinterklaas' horse. How cool is that!?


He is small but strong!
I love having my own horse.


On December 5th my owner was told that Sinterklaas would drop presents off at a friends place, so we went there of course. I was a bit troubled when I didn't see any names on the packages.


There were all kinds of yummy things to eat, and I got a Sinterklaas Surprise Egg.


It had a small charm in it with the face of Sinterklaas' horse.


Next we played a special game!
It turned out that there were no names on the packages because Sinterklaas thought it would be fun to win them in the game. So we played the game and won presents, sometimes we had to trade presents, and sometimes we even lost some!


But in the end we all had a stack of presents to unpack.
Sinterklaas clearly didn't know I'd be there as well, because the presents were not the kind I would want to get. And Sullivan advised against showing them on the blog, because some might be too naughty for our readers.


But on December 7th Sinterklaas dropped by again at the house of other friends with more presents! This time there was no game, but there were names on the packages.


And look at all the goodies!
There were books, candy, marzipan, cool toys, and more! Sullivan immediately checked out the books when we got home of course. I myself think the Players Handbook for D&D is the coolest of the books, so we decided I could get that book and Sullivan will read and review the others.


And we got new friends!
Saint Hamsterklaas and Hamster Piet also dropped by and decided to stay with us. They're relatives of Hammie Hamster they told me.

All in all it was a fun Sinterklaas season.

Sinterklaas Brought Presents!

Sinterklaas brought us presents yesterday.
He was a day early because he has many presents to deliver and can't deliver them all in one day.


One of the presents was this really cool Cthulhu lamp!


There were cool hedgehog statues.


And books!!

I also got marzipan, a Cthulhu die, buttons, and a dinosaur eraser.

Sinterklaas Brought Presents

Yesterday it was Sinterklaasavond (St. Nicholas Eve).
Sinterklaas brought lots of presents for us and our friends.

We had lots of fun unpacking all our presents. There also was yummy food, and we played Cards Against Humanity. It was a really fun evening.




Here are the presents me and my owner got.
Three books, a chocolate letter, a powerbank, and lots of cool dinosaur stuff. We also got 2 bottles of cider, but forgot to put those in the picture.

Sinterklaas Presents!

It's St. Nicholas Eve on December 5th, but Sinterklaas already dropped by to leave some early presents yesterday!


I wonder what Sinterklaas got me.


A book!
Sinterklaas knows me well!


And there were also more marzipan piggy banks.

More Sinterklaas

We received a surprise present from Sinterklaas last Wednesday.
He sneakily managed to put it in our shoes when we weren't looking.


And on Thursday he delivered goodies for us at work.


And then on Friday Sinterklaas dropped by for a visit!
He talked to some of the people who he thought had been good this year.


And he talked to me!!
I almost fainted again.


My owner bought me a marzipan piggy to calm me down from all the excitement.


Yesterday it was Sinterklaas Eve, and there were even more presents!

I got two zombie books, 2 games, a cool candle, a little tree, and a chocolate letter.


I wasn't the only one to get a cool candle and a little tree, so I played around with all of the candles and tress of course.







It was an awesome week, but now Sinterklaas has gone back to Spain. I hope to see him again next year.
