A Sunny Day in Utrecht

Last Sunday I went on a trip.
My owner and I went to Utrecht to visit Aurian and Maia.

We had a quick look at the Book Festival to see if maybe they had some new books since August, then we went into the city to enjoy the weather.

First we had lunch.
I had a tasty sandwich with cheese and apple syrup.

And a Martini Something Sorbet for dessert.

After lunch we had a walk in the park next to the restaurant where we had our lunch.

There was a cool fountain.

And a statue of queen Wilhelmina, a former queen of the Netherlands.

Next we visited the Rosarium, a park with all kinds of roses.
No dogs allowed, luckily I'm a pig.

Isn't this pretty?!

I stopped to smell the roses of course!

I'm a Super Star!

Outside of the Rosarium we spotted wild strawberries!

After a lovely sunny afternoon outside we spend some time talking and playing games at Maia's home. After dinner my owner and I went back to Groningen.

Here are the books I found at the Book Festival. I got one of them for free!

All in all we had a great day.
Thanks Maia and Aurian!

Mail, a Trip and Books

I'm still alive!
I've been busy reading, and helping my owner to run away from zombies with the Zombies, Run app.

I received some cool mail of which I will show you:

The cool crab card Beanie sent me.

And the piggy card Hammie sent.

And I took a trip yesterday:

I traveled to Utrecht to meet up with Aurian and Maia.
When I arrived Maia showed me a beautiful piece of Utrecht.

Isn't this a lovely view?!

Next we went to IJsselstein to visit the head office of the people who arrange Boekenfestijn, a regular book fair with lots of cheap books.

They had this cool scales at the entrance.

And they had books of course!
We browsed the books they had on sale and after that we went back to Utrecht and I got to hang out some more with Aurian and Maia. We had lots of fun, but in the evening I had to return home.

Here's the stack of books I bought at the Boekenfestijn head office. I even found a cool zombie book, that I might tell you more about soon.

A Picnic, More Food and Lots of Books

Last week it was lovely weather so we went on another picnic.

The insects also thought the weather was nice.
Can you see them?

We had a cool campfire as well.

I hope we get more sunny days so we can go on a picnic again soon.

Yesterday we got a visit from Aurian and Maia!

They came bearing gifts, and we had a great afternoon talking about books, the convention in Berlin they visited, and more. In the evening we went out for dinner.

We went to my favorite restaurant: Ni Hao.

We had lots of yummy food, including my favorite sweet and sour soup.

After dinner they started on their journey back home, and it was time for me to drool over the goodies they brought.

Just look at all the books and swag.
And I also got a cool purple bag from the Berlin convention!

They also met up with Patricia Briggs, and not only did they get her to sign my copy of Fair Game, they also got a magnet and a cool badge for me!

And in Berlin they had Nalini Singh sign two books for me as well!

There were lots of other cool books as well, including Zombies vs Unicorns, and a book about a pig. Keep an eye on my review blog, because I will certainly review those books there.

Thanks, Aurian and Maia for all the goodies and for a really fun day!

Signed Books, Presents and More

Yesterday I got a visit from Aurian and her friend Maia. Aurian took some of our books with her to a convention in Berlin to get them signed. She brought them with her and she even had more goodies for us.

Voodoo Bride gave Aurian two books to sign and she got those back and Aurian had a third signed book for Voodoo Bride. Maya Banks has been on Voodoo Bride's wishlist for some time so she's very happy with this book.

Thanks Aurian!

There were lots of goodies from Vivian Arend and Wolfie.
We gave Aurian one book to get signed for us, but she returned with two and some cool extras.

Wolfie signed this book for us!

Thanks Wolfie, we'll treasure it.

This signed book was a gift from Vivian to us.

And we got a dog tag, a key ring and a small container.

It contained a horse shoe charm and a pin with the Canadian Maple leaf!

Thanks for the book and all the great goodies, Vivian & Wolfie!
You're awesome.

Aurian had a really cool present for me as well.
She gave me two piggy charms!

Aren't they totally awesome?!

Thanks Aurian!
I'm very happy with them. You rock!

We had a great afternoon talking about books and other things and in the evening we went into town, so Aurian and Maia could compare the Martini Tower with the Dom Tower. They thought the Dom Tower was more beautiful, but I think the Martini tower is the best!

After that we had dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

It was a really fun day and I hope to meet up with Aurian and Maia again soon.
