A Trip to Paris - The Last Few Hours - Day 5, part 3

After our lunch we had a last look around at the Notre Dame.

No throwing stuff at birds, no dancing with your dog, and no cycling.
Check!

Everything looked so beautiful with the sun shining on it.

That bridge was glittering with gold it seemed.

It turned out to be hundreds of locks that were put on the bridge.
It's a kind of ritual I think, that people do in hope they'll visit Paris again some day.

Good bye, Paris.
Time to get our luggage and go to the train station.

A metro station called Sully?

Indeed!

How cool.

We took the metro to the hotel and got our luggage. Then we went to the train station.

The big sign in the station hall showed when the trains left.

And then we were homeward bound.

I hope we will visit Paris again sometime!

A Trip to Paris - A View, Books, and Food - Day 5, part 2

We climbed to the dome of the Sacré-Cœur.
It was a long way up. Along the way I saw this goat gargoyle.

Halfway up I spotted the Eiffel Tower in the distance

Finally we reached the top.
What a view!

Another gargoyle.

Wow, that's a long way down.

It was totally awesome!

After our climb to the dome we took a metro to the center of the city.

To pay another visit to Shakespeare and Company.

I browsed the books, looking for a cool read.

There was a pretty fountain close to the shop.

After some more browsing I decided to buy this book.

And they stamped it for me!
What a cool souvenir.

We sat outside enjoying the sun for a bit.

And then found a small restaurant where we had a pancake for lunch.

Next: The last pictures of my visit to Paris.

A Trip to Paris - A Statue and the Sacré-Cœur - Day 5, part 1

After a few lovely days in Paris it was already time to go home again.
But our train wouldn't leave until the end of the afternoon, so lots of time for a last bit of sightseeing.

First we had breakfast.
Croissants and hot chocolate. Yum.

Then we had a look at Place de la République.

The statue on the square was full of pamphlets and paint.
They were all about the assault on Charlie Hebdo.

It gave me a bit of a chill I will confess.

Time to do something more fun.
The sun was shining and it was warm, so after we did a bit of shopping we decided to do some touristy things.

We visited the Sacré-Cœur again.

It looked a lot different with the blue sky and the sun shining on it.

We paid to visit the crypt and had a look around.

It was beautiful.

Next we decided to visit the dome of the Sacré-Cœur.
More on that tomorrow.
