Big Birthday Post

It was our birthday on Thursday!
There were birthday garlands and birthday pie, but I forgot to take a picture of the pie.

We got to open Miki's birthday package!

What a cool piggy birthday card.

There was a small present, which turned out to be a Mass Effect key chain.

And what's this big box?
It had Garrus on it, our favorite character from Mass Effect.

It's a Garrus statue!

Just look how detailed it is!

Thank you, Miki!

In the afternoon we went into town and were allowed to shop for our presents by my owner's Other Half. We managed to find a lot, more on that later.

After our shopping we had something to drink at one of our favorite cafés.

Next we walked to our favorite restaurant.
We encountered a penguin on the way.

Looks like penguins were some kind of mascot for the annual music festival that takes place on or near our birthday.

And here I am at the 5 Smaken!
(5 tastes)

They have the most delicious food, and you can pick what you want to eat in an app, and get it served at your table. Like this spicy soup.

And Sushi!

I also had a birthday Wasabini!

As we walked back home after dinner I took pictures of the Martini Tower.

More music festival stuff.

It was an amazing afternoon and evening.
Back home it was time to drool over our birthday loot.

Sullivan got 5 new books.
He's especially happy with The Wizard of the Pigeons, he once borrowed it and loved it, so is very happy with his own copy for his collection.

I got two books to draw in, and fineliners to do it with.

The day after our birthday two more packages arrived!
These were not for our birthday, but related to the important thing from December, but I will include them in this birthday post anyway.

The first was from G. the owner of Hammie.

A handmade book with blank pages to write or draw in!
Isn't it gorgeous?!

Soon G. will sell her beautiful handmade books at Prettig Papierwerk

Close up of the cover and the handmade heart note she sent with it.

There's even my owner's name on the bookmark cord!
Thanks G.

The other package took a long time to get here.
It was even in France where it was opened up by curious customs workers to see what was inside.

It's from Dana Cameron!
She sent us a magazine, chocolat, candy, and a fun opossum sticker.

Sullivan is eager to read Dana's contribution to the magazine!
Thank you, Dana!

So all in all we were spoiled this last week.
Thanks for everyone who contributed in making this birthday week awesome!

Gilbert: Early Birthday Mail

There were two packages and one birthday card in the mail today.
The card had a party pig on it!

The first package we opened had another party pig and a present!

The inside of the card was really cool as well.

Candy!
Yum yum!

Sullivan thought our owner and I should open the next package.

It was roses and a card from our owners Other-Half and everyone else here. No wonder Sullivan wanted us to open this, he was in on it!

What a beautiful bouquet of roses.

Thanks E, A and G&J!
We feel spoiled already.

Gilbert: Games, Fun, and More

We've been taking things easy, but we had to try our new game Komeet (Comet). So Sullivan and I played against each other.

It turns out to be a really fun and tactical game.

You get to guide animals to a cave to hide for the comet. Once in the cave they give you bonus actions, and points at the end of the game.

I thought I did really well and could smell victory, but Sullivan managed to beat me. We will definitely play this more often.

I received a Bus Bingo prize from Beanie.
A beautiful card and a mummy magnet!

Even the kitty wanted to see it.
Thanks, Beanie!

I finished the 3D Dino with the help of Aidan.
Isn't it cool?!

As it is almost our birthday, my owner and me were invited to an early and small celebration by three friends.

They had cake, balloons, and presents!

We got these really awesome cheese dice.

And a dinosaur game!
My owner has wanted this game for a long time, so we were very happy to get it.

Her friends had aready learned the rules of the game by playing it online, so we could immediately play it.

It is a really good and fun game with cool artwork.
You have to create the most popular dinosaur amusement park to win.

There were also snacks.
Yum!

My dinosaur amusement park slowly grew.

I will confess we might have bought stuff for the park that was cool instead of stuff that would let us win.

In te end we lost, but we had lots of fun.
Another game we will play a lot more often!

Thanks, guys!
It was an awesome early birthday celebration.

A Big Package and More

On the last day of 2024 we received a very big package.

It turned out to be Miki's annual Christmas/Birthday Package!
She always spoils us with lots of fun and yummy stuff.

This one is for my owner's birthday and can't be opened just yet.

Look at all the yummy cookies and caramels!

And many new friends as well!

Thank you Miki!

We celebrated New Year's Eve with lots of yummy food.
It was a fun and cozy evening.

On the 3rd we took our first walk in the new year that wasn't to the grocery store, but just to enjoy being outside.

It was a beautiful late afternoon.

That evening there were early birthday books for Sullivan from Melliane.

I have to say it once again:
Thank you to everyone who helped us out, spoiled us, sent cards, presents, and just in general thought of us. We are lucky to have friends like you!

I'll do my best to post more to keep you all updated on the stuff we do.

Fun Stuff and Outings

The days between Christmas and New Year's Eve we did some puzzling.

Went on some walks to the nearby shopping mall.

And we started on the 3D Dino kit!
Aidan helped out as well.

We divided the pieces in left and right side of the dino, and got out the glue.

We finished one side of the dino. We will do the other one soon,

Doesn't he look cool already?

Kitty Spam!

We also went into town and I spotted this elk!

The Christmas Fair was still going.

We met with friends for lunch and afterward we met another friend for a walk and we had hot chocolate with her as well. It was a fun afternoon.

More cards and treats arrived as well.
Thanks again to everyone who thought of us!

next: big package!
