A Trip to Zwolle

Today my owner and me made a trip to Zwolle.
I didn't get out of her bag much, so I'm not sure what the trip was about.

A trip to Zwolle and a Relative

We made a trip to Zwolle today by train.

It started out looking a bit rainy, but the clouds disappeared and the weather became quite nice actually.

So I spend the trainride enjoying the view and the sun.

At the birthday where we were going to I met a distant relative.
We had a very nice chat.

In the evening we went back by train, but it was so full we had to sit on the floor and there wasn't even enough room to move to make a picture.

A trip to Zwolle with lots of Mice

Yesterday my owner and me went on a trip to Zwolle as my owner told me something happened that needed celebrating.

At the station in Zwolle we saw a bike decorated with flowers. I wonder if it was for the celebration.

When we came to the house of my owner's brother and his partner there was a big mouse cake with small mice around it.

And even more cake and chocolate covered with white and pink coloured anise seeds, which in the Netherlands are called 'Muisjes' (little mice). so what's up with all the mice?

It turned out a baby was born!

The mice thing turned out to be to celebrate the birth. There's pink and white mice when it's a girl and blue and white when it's a boy.

A Trip to the Ecodrome - part 2

After all the scary animals we encountered some non scary animals: Chickens

Did I just say chickens aren't scary? Maybe I should rethink that comment.

Next we visited an expo about Darwin and there I saw these insect beasties.

Hmmmmm..... no comment.

These scary heads were set up like this to compare the skulls from Java men, Neanthertals, humans and two others that I forgot, one of them was named Lucy I think.

They also had lots of spiders at the Ecodrome.

After seeing the spiders we got something to eat and look what I found on top of my fries!

A pretty purple spider!
I wonder if he followed us all the way from the spider expo room.

After we had eaten we went to the jungle room where there were crocodiles! Here is one of them, he's called Hap.

There also should be an second crocodile named Snap, but all I saw were big fish.

But when we went upstairs I found Snap, he was lying in the sun.

Outside again I spotted these pinecones. Doesn't it look beautiful with all the snow?

One last look at the Ecodrome and it was time to go as we also had a visit to my owner's mother planned.

When we got there we were just in time to take this picture of the sky before the sun was gone. I didn't even have time to get in the picture too.

After spending some time with my owner's mother we traveled back to Groningen. We were lucky the trains were still going as it was going to snow again. The trip did take longer as usual because of the snow, but we made it home in one piece!

A trip to Ecodrome - part 1

Today we made a trip to Zwolle to visit the Ecodrome, a kind of museum about animals. First we went to the station and they had a huge Christmas tree there.

When we came in Zwolle we walked to the Ecodrome.
On our way we saw some really cool wall drawings:

Looks like we made it to the Ecodrome!

First thing I encountered inside the Ecodrome was this barrel full of mice. They were very friendly.

Next I ran into a Mammoth!

I also got to dig for old mammoth bones and found this one.

And I spotted a moose hiding behind a tree! He was very shy, but he did tell me were to find a wild boar.

And here's the wild boar! We had a nice chat about pig things.

Look at those teeth! I wonder if this is a relative of Hammie.

Here's a picture of a very gloomy bird. He was feeling too blue to talk to me.

I also saw a shark, but stayed far away from him.

And what kind of lethal bird is this?!

Look! There it is harrassing other birds. My owner told me it's a Dodo and that it is some kind of non flying pidgeon, but I do not believe her. No pidgeon is that agressive.

This place is dangerous for a small pig like me....

A trip to Zwolle

Today my owner and I went to the birthday of one of my owner's nephews. This is the card we bought him for his birthday: Feest Varken = Party Pig. It's a common name here to use for someone who has his/her birthday.

First we went to the trainstation on bike and we parked the bike in the bike parking garage at the trainstation.

On board of the train. I love trainrides, there's always so much to see.

We brought something to drink and eat for the hour long journey.

When we arrived in Zwolle my owner called her mother who then drove to the station to pick us up as she was going to the birthday too. While we were waiting for her to arrive I had a look around and discovered this pond.

There were also lots of these yellow flowers close to the pond.

This picture we took for Coco. It's a small sticker that was on a lamppost. It says: "Adoption, Kim(scribbled blob) Brit(scribbled blob)Thanks for your visit!"
Weird...

My owner's nephews had lots of dinosaurs, but they were all very small so I wasn't scared of them.

Hmmm... They also had this cool dinosaur book. They really must love dinosaurs. Luckily my owner knew about that so had bought more dinosaurs as birthday presents.

Here I'm on my way home again. It was a rainy and windy day so I was glad that we didn't have to wait long for the train to arrive.

I crawled in my owner's bag and took a nap on the way home as you can't see anything out of the window anyway when it's dark and raining.
