My trip to Normandy - Homeward Bound

The last day arrived and we had to return home.

We had a last ice cream at the nearby restaurant at Omaha Beach.

I enjoyed the sun.

One last picture of the house.

And then we drove all the way home again.

It was a wonderful trip!

My trip to Normandy - Day 8, part 3 - Pancakes and more

After all the walking and sight seeing we were thirsty and hungry, so we got a drink.

And a pancake!
I got a pancake with strawberry jam. it was delicious.

Then it was time to say goodbye to the monastery and return to the house.

On our way to the bus I saw this sign.

A last view on Mont Saint-Michel before boarding the bus.

The bus brought us back to the parking lot where we had parked our car.

On our way to the house we made a short stop to take pictures of Mont Saint-Michel in the distance.

This was our last full day in Normandy so when we got back I took some pictures around the house.

This pretty painting was hanging in our bedroom.

The view from our bedroom window.

The sun was setting.

The view on the road from the front garden.

Random tree picture.

I really enjoyed our stay in this house.

Coming next: the journey home

My trip to Normandy - Day 8, part 2 - Mont Saint-Michel

We continued our walk around the island and found a small ruin.

It used to be some kind of water/well house I think.

In the distance I spotted some kind of church.

There were stairs leading up to the church.

There was a statue of a saint on top.

And crocheted Dream Catchers in the window.

Far above us we could see the monastery.

When we walked on, I spotted another seagull.

Finally we made our way around and entered the small town that was build around the monastery.

I saw a gargoyle.

What a great view on the monastery.

I also spotted a young sparrow.

We looked around in the small town and had fun. It was very beautiful.

Coming next: pancake!

My Trip to Normandy - Day 8, part 1 - Mont Saint-Michel

On June 7 we went for a trip to Mont Saint-Michel.

Mont Saint-Michel is a small rocky island on the coast. There's a large monastery on the island. We had to take a bus to get close to the island and then walked the rest of the way.

I spotted a seagull along the way.

Doesn't it look beautiful?

When we reached the island we decided to walk around it first to have a good look at it.

It was low tide, so we could easily walk around the island, but when it's high tide the island is surrounded by water.
