Gilbert - A Fun Trip part 2: Buildings & Food

After looking around in the city center of Leer we went in search of the hunting lodge.

Random building in Leer I should have posted with the previous post.

We found the hunting lodge.
It didn't looks impressive, and we didn't want to visit the garden or spend money to look around inside.

We did spot a church across the street though!

We decided to have a closer look

There was a small, but beautiful graveyard.

And a church bell...

Next we drove on to Diana's house.
We relaxed a bit, and in the evening we went out for dinner.

I had a cocktail!
(Swimming Pool)

There were all kinds of yummy snacks.

And a delicious dessert!

More on my trip soon (probably).

Gilbert - A Fun Trip part 1: Birds & More

In May we went on a trip!
Diana came to pick us up to stay at her place for a couple of days.
But before driving to her house:

We went to an event!
'De slag bij Heiligerlee'
It's a reenactment of a battle from 1568.
The battle wouldn't start for a couple of hours when we arrived, but there was other stuff to see as well, so we walked around for a bit.

We met this monk and his owl!
He told us there was a bird show that had just started, so we went there to watch of course.

There was a vulture!

Isn't she cool?!

I forgot what kind of bird this was, but it had learned to hunt together with the dog. Very fun to see them work together.

Well, this bird doesn't need introduction!

After seeing the bird show we walked around some more, but it was very wet and rainy, so we didn't wait for the battle to start. Instead we drove on to Leer.

Leer is a city in Germany.
We had heard it was a nice city to see and that there was a hunting lodge.

It started raining here as well.
So we decided to go in search for a late lunch first.

Found it!
And it was yummy!

We did some sightseeing when it stopped raining.

Next: More things to see in Leer.

Gilbert: Drinks, Food, & Fun

Here's an update on what I was up in early September

We went out for dinner at the 5 Tastes with a friend.

We had lots of yummy food, and  Wasabi Martini of course.
It was a super fun night!

The next day we went on a trip!
We started our trip with dinner at the Sushi Mall with Diana.

I had lots of sushi

Including banana-oreo sushi!

After dinner we drove to Germany!

Diana got us really cool drinks at a medieval market she visited.

After a fun evening we went to sleep, because early the next day we went to a Farmer's market/flea market! We saw some cool and fun stuff there.

I was tempted by these owls.

I also spotted this cool painting.

We saw lots of other cool stuff, but soon it was getting really hot! We went back to Diana's home to avoid getting a sun stroke. We relaxed and read until the evening.

In the evening we went out for dinner. I spotted this mill close to the restaurant.

And a church.

I got French Fries and mushrooms. My owner had something we shall not speak about.

After another fun evening and a good night's sleep we went shopping and then Diana drove us home.

We stopped in Rolde to see the church.

We also visited the hunebedden close to the church.

It was lovely weather once again.

We visited a farm shop next. They had home made ice cream!

Yum Yum!

We had a great time with Diana. I hope we visit gain soon.
