We went to see Checkpoint Charlie after our visit to the graveyard.
Berlin used to be divided into two parts by a big wall so people couldn't get from one part of Berlin to the other part of Berlin. Checkpoint Charlie was a place where people could cross into the other part of town if allowed. Today Checkpoint Charlie is not a real checkpoint anymore, but a tourist attraction.
There were also some pieces of the wall at Checkpoint Charlie. Although I did wonder if they were real pieces of the wall, because some had paintings of the same artist on both sides! How did she do that if she wasn't allowed to go to the other part of the city? I don't think those Charlie people would have thought painting a wall was important enough to be allowed to cross.
