A Package, Carrots, and an Excavation

Yes, I am supposed to tell you about Berlin, but I did something really cool yesterday, and want to show you!

But first:

I received an amazing package from Jeffe yesterday.
She sent me signed books, that she got for me at the RT Convention, chocolate, and some cool book cards. She also sent me a signed copy of The Talon of the Hawk, so I might have a giveaway of my unsigned copy at my other blog soon.

I also harvested my carrots.
They didn't get very big, because they didn't have a lot of room to grow, but they tasted great!

And now:

I got a Dino excavation kit as a souvenir from Berlin.
(I'll tell you about where I got it soon.)

There was a block inside that contained T-Rex bones, and a tool to excavate them! Isn't that the coolest!

I began digging into the block and soon...

I spotted my first T-Rex bone.

I kept digging carefully and using the little brush to clean off the dirt.

I could see more and more bones in the dirt.

Finally I managed to dig up my first T-Rex bone!

It was part of a T-Rex skull.
How cool!

I carefully worked on, removing more and more dirt, and revealing more and more bones.

A T-Rex leg!

It was so cool to see more and more bones, and to get them out of the dirt.

Finally I had found all the bones, and was left with a pile of lose dirt.

Here are all the bones I found.
A whole T-Rex skeleton.
It looked like they could be fit together, so I got to work.

See! Isn't he cool!?
I'm very proud of my hard work in getting him excavated and put together!

Food and a Long Train Ride

Last Wednesday we went on a long train ride. My owner told me to pack my passport.

First we had to get a train to Amersfoort where we were supposed to catch another train, but there had been an accident, and there weren't any trains going from Groningen to Amersfoort. So we had to detour to a town called Deventer. It turned out that the train we had to catch was also stopping in Deventer, so we decided to stop trying to get to Amersfoort and just board the train in Deventer.

We had an hour and a half before the train would arrive, so we had some time to kill.

We went to get ice tea, apple pie and ice cream!
Yum!

We caught our train and after some trouble with getting a seat (we had reservations, but other people took our seats and didn't want to move!) we could settle in for a long ride. I brought a book and a travel diary.

A German train!
Finally my owner told me where we were going: Berlin!
We've been there before and it was really cool.

We traveled for almost 6 hours from Deventer to Berlin.
When we arrived at the Central Station of Berlin we took a smaller train and a metro to get to our hotel.

I remember this hotel!
It's the same hotel we stayed in when we were in Berlin in 2012.

After checking out our room, we went to the bar for a drink, to celebrate the start of our vacation.

Next we went to the hotel restaurant.

I got baked potatoes!

We were tired from the long day of traveling, so after dinner we went back to our room. The next day we would start exploring Berlin!

A Carrot and a Pig

This week I checked the carrots, and one was ready to eat!

I know it's not a large carrot, but they don't have lots of room to get much longer than this. And it might be small, but it tasted delicious!

When we were at the bookstore yesterday I spotted a piggy lamp!
It's the piggy lamp from the movie Amélie.

Is't it cool!

Catching Up - Lots of Food and Drinks (and a Tomato)

I've been on several outings this week, but was too lazy to blog about it until now.

So here's a lot of pictures!

Last weekend we had a BBQ with some of our co-workers.
First we visited a supermarket for food and I stopped to take a picture of this church.

Here I am waiting for the BBQ to start, and hoping against all hope that my owner brought some food that wouldn't make me a cannibal if I ate it.

It started raining...

But luckily we had cover for the rain.

Our hostess had thought of me and had ice cream.
Yum!

It was a fun afternoon.

This Wednesday it was lovely weather, so we went out for another BBQ.
There were corn cobs that I could put on the BBQ.

And there was cider!

I had a great time.

This Thursday I discovered there's a tomato on my cherry tomato plant!
How cool.

On Friday the weather was still nice, so we went out for a picnic.
There were mini pancakes.

And more cider!

This Saturday we went for a long walk and had dinner at our favorite restaurant.

It was a really warm day, so I had a nice, cool glass of beer.

Dessert!
Yum, yum, yum!

I also got to try the dessert of my owner's OtherHalf. It was beer ice cream with mint.

After dinner we walked back home. It was a wonderful day!

Vampires and Werewolves

I received a book from Beanie yesterday.
He must have known I just started on book three in the Darren Shan series, because he sent me book four!

Thanks Beanie!

Today I had Pure Blooded in my mail.
It's the newest book in a really cool werewolf series.

Mail Call

I received a package from Miki this week.
She sent me some really cool postcards and a hippo USB stick!

Thanks Miki!

K.A. Krantz sent me a book for review.
Larcout sounds like a really cool Fantasy read.

Thanks K.A.!

Drinks and a Movie

Last Thursday we went into town with a friend for drinks.

And then we went to see Pitch Perfect 2.
It was a fun movie, although I thought that the Germans, who are supposed to be the evil rivals, had the coolest songs.
