Today I met this jolly fellow and had a little talk with him.Dutch followers of my blog will recognise this huge hamster and also the the title of this blog post. This huge hamster is the mascot of a large chain of supermarkets over here. Hamsters are also called hamsters in dutch. 'Hamsteren' is a word that means to hoard lots of food, like hamsters do too.

i wish we had a hamster mascot! we do have a chain of stores called the piggly wiggly which has a pig as a mascot...still, not as cool as a hamster...
She read my mind! I wish we had a mascot too! Oh yeah, the Piggly Wiggly...but that's not by me. :(
