A Magic Tournament in Assen

Yesterday evening we went to Assen by train as we were invited for a Magic Tournament.

I love travelling by train! There's so much to see.

My owner also brought her cat who can double as a bag. We had a little chat on the way.

At the tournament there were really cool prizes to win: dice! A gold one for the person who would win first pace, silver for second place and bronze for third place.

When my owner and me got our cards there was a really cool and creepy zombie card among them!

We made a deck out of the cards we got and then we were ready to play.

It was a bit too dark there to take any more pictures while we were playing sadly enough, but it was lots of fun I can tell you.

But my owner and me didn't do so well and we lost!! That did mean we won a consolation prize though: Two really beautiful 10-sided dice.

A game and a sponge

As a reward for helping out at Noorderspel I got a couple of games.
I really like this one: Murder at Greenrock Village Theatre.

It's a game you can play just by yourself and has lots of murders you have to solve using logic. Sofar I managed to solve 11 murders.

Next week there are election for a new citycounsil. All political parties are campaigning at the moment. One of them had a really cool gift as part of their campaign: a little sponge in the shape of a tomato.

More Renovation Pics and Giant Plush Microbes

Today I bring you more renovation chaos!
Rubbish and a car parked on the sidewalk! We had to walk around it to get to our front door.

A big crane blocked our way on the street when we wanted to go into the city. We had to make a detour to get around that as well.

The container in front of our house is getting filled with old rooftiles. And they're not very quiet when throwing them in there.

A view from the front of our street.

They tried cheering everything up a bit by putting childrens drawings on some of the gates.

The door of a house that's being renovated. Doesn't look like much yet.

More houses in the proces of being renovated.

I did find one cool thing though: a mosaic in the sidewalk.

On to other, more fun things!
There's a new housemate since today: A plushie White Blood Cell!
Yup, that would be the white fellow on the left. He's in good company here as we already have three of his friends from the Giant Plush Microbe family living here: a Dust Mite, a Bookwurm and a Black Ant.

Extra picture as the Ant thought the previous picture didn't show him good enough.

Renovation and Pigs

The renovation in our street is creeping closer. Today there suddenly was a large container in front of our house! The workers also left all kinds of rubbish at our front door which my owner and me immediately threw in the container ofcourse.

When we went shopping my owner got me this card! I think these pigs might be distant relatives as they also have spots.

And for those interested:
I posted another book review here.

Noorderspel 2010 - Day 2

Today was the second day of the games convention. On our way to the convention it was a bit foggy and the streets were almost deserted.

I decided to check out more of the convention on my breaks from work today. Sunny Games had a stand right next ot ours so I started out there.

They told me something about their games: everyone has to work together to win the game, so either everyone wins or everybody loses. This game is called 'The Secret Door' and you have to try and find the secret door in a mansion to stop a thief from stealing treasure from the mansion if I understood correctly.

I also ran into Cthulhu's nephew: Valentino Cthulhu.

At lunch I had something to drink and delicious cream filled bread.

And I spotted a bottle of mineralwater.
Opera? Never heard of that brand before.

It turned out to be promotion material for a new game called Opera.

And what have we here?
A corpseless head and plushie viri?
I wonder if it has to do with that crime that needed to be solved.

But no, it turned out to be props to draw attention to this game: Pandemie (Pandemic). A game in which you have to try to stop all kinds of horrible viri to spread all over the world.

And then it was five in the afternoon and the convention was over and everything was cleared away. It was fun and I sold lots of games.

And next to all the selling we did a little buying. We bought one game as a gift for someone: Rupsje Nooitgenoeg Memory. I think it looks like a fun game.

Noorderspel 2010

Today me and my owner helped out at Noorderspel, a games convention. We helped with selling games at the stand of WirWar, a shop that sells games and puzzles.

I also helped promote a new kind of chessgame.

There were lots of things to do at the convention, like playtesting all kinds of new games.

There even was a crime scene!!
You could sign up to help finding clues to solve the crime, but as we had games to sell, we didn't have time to help.

After the convention we passed the trainstation on our way home and we took this picture.

Tomorrow is day two of the games convention and we'll be there again to sell even more games.

Not much happening

Nothing much is happening at the moment. Today at work I've been reading magazines. In one of them I came across the picture of a monster!

This weekend I'll be busy though as we're going to help out at a games convention.

First try at making stamps

I tried making stamps with the rollerthingie I got from Beanie. I got lots of cool ink-stamps, so first I filled a paper with those.

Then I started rolling and it did turn out looking good, but they were very hard to seperate without tearing them up. According to my owner that's because the paper we used was too thick, so I'm going to try again another time with different paper.

Beautiful Sky

It was a work Saturday today, so no time for doing anything fun sofar. I did see a beautiful sunset when we left work though. I tried to take a picture of it, but I can tell you the real thing was much prettier.

Best Winter Ever!

When I looked out of te window this morning it was white outside again!!

So we had to go out and have a closer look ofcourse! My owner got out her bike and we went into town. On our way there we went through the park. Isn't it lovely?

We had lots of fun with all the snow, below there's more snow picture spam:
