View on the Martinitoren, thermos and threads

This picture was taken at the bike parkinglot at our grocerystore.
Behind me you can see how old buildings (right) and new ones are build close together. In the distance, between the building you can see the Martinitoren (Martini tower) again.

Me playing with the new thermos that my owner's OH just bought.

As my owner was stitcihng all afternoon I tried to help out by picking out colours for her.

Coco!

Today I'm going to introduce you some more to Coco.

As I told you last saturday we found Coco in a large garden center and we brought him home with us as he seemed like a really nice bird.
He turned out to be a really cool bird indeed and he happens to share my love for blogging. He started his own blog today which you can find here. Be sure to check it out!

We went out for a nice walk this afternoon as it finally stopped raining.

here you can see Coco and me with the entering sign of Groningen.
Always good to be coming home!

Relaxing

After the really fun and busy day I had yesterday, I spend today relaxing.

Garden Center

Today we went to a very large garden center in Twente, a region in the province of Overijssel, south of Groningen.

One of the first things we saw when we entered the garden center was this large collection of piggy banks!

They also had lots of plants ofcourse. I felt like I was in a jungle from time to time.

I encountered this mysterious pond which had a snail and a ladybug in it.

They also had lots of cars that were just my size!
I couldn't resist trying some of them out:

At the toys section I met two family members and a toucan.
We brought the toucan home with us, his name is Coco.

More pig related merchandise.
I think this was supposed to be a placemat.

After all the shopping we went to a restaurant for pancakes and hot chocolate.

A picture of me outside of the restaurant.

When we got home we took some pictures of the cool stuff I got today:

Art Event

At first I wanted to do another food post today, but I was afraid to get clobbered on the head by a certain lady, so instead I decided on a post about the Art Event I went to this evening.

At the Art Event there were a lot of artists: painters, sculptors and such, who presented some of thier work.

A very good friend of my owner and her OH also had work on show so we went to visit her at the Art Event and we took some pictures of me and her work, which is really cool:

She even had a small diorama with a tree thingie that was just my size.

And some more pictures of the diorama:

The other really cool stand at the Art Event was a stand with bronze sculptures made by a sculptress named Yvonne Visser:

There was a lot of bright light, so I look a bit too bright, but don't you think the hippo statue looks cool!?

Whe we got home it was time for a drink:

Computer Time

Food and Angus

We had to work till 9 p.m today, so when we got home my owner didn't feel like cooking.
We called a delivery service and they brought us this delicious food: baked potatoes!
The delivery guy was a bit impatient though, when we weren't at the door in 2 seconds after he rang, he rang again and even knocked on the door real loud. I think he expected my owner to jump from the stairs or something.

Angus.
No further comments needed.

Tattoo and Storytime

Nothing new happened at work today so I thought I'd show you some other stuff.
This is my owner's tattoo!
Her OH designed it for her. It's on her right shoulder.

And a picture of Gavin telling us a story.
He usually tells stories just before it's time to go to sleep

Herestraat and renovation

Today we went shopping again , so I thought it was time to show you the largest shopping street in Groningen: the 'Herestraat'.
It was a weekday so not too busy. On saturdays the street is so full of people you can't even see the yellow pavement.

Next month they're going to start on a renovation project in our neighbourhood. Behind me you can see the containers they placed in our street and that they're going to use during the renovation. I'm not happy about the renovation as it means we'll have to move to another house temporarily while they renovate our house. Luckily that won't happen until next year.

Award, Spring and a picture for Marie

I'm feeling very proud today because I got a Passionate Blogger Award from Eve

Isn't it cool!
Thanks Eve.

Well, spring is here and that means bye bye Snowdrops...
They're only blooming for a short time in late winter unfortunately.
But it being spring means that soon there'll be Lady's Smock and other pretty spring flowers.

And now a picture especially for Marie:

Meet Ellie!
Ellie is another one of my housemates and she's shy, but really nice. In the evening, just before bedtime, Ellie always joins us to listen to Gavin's stories.

Cousin Moira

Yesterday we had a sudden visitor: cousin Moira, a sister of Gavin and Agnes.
She is going to move to Canada to live with Marie, a good friend of my owner and wanted to visit the family for a couple of days before going on her trip across the ocean.

Once there she's going to stay in touch with us to let us know how life is in Canada.

d' Olle Grieze

I can hear some of you think: "What? d' Olle Grieze, what's that?"
Well, it's the tower you can see behind me.
It's the highest and most famous of the towers in Groningen. It's original name is Martinitoren (Martini tower) and it's part of the Martini church. d' Olle Grieze is it's nickname and it means 'the old grey one'. d' Olle Grieze isn't dutch btw, it's Gronings dialect. In dutch they would say 'De Oude Grijze'.

Music and Piggy Poker

Today there wasn't much to do for me at work so I listened to my owner's mp3-player while she worked.

Do you remember me showing you the Piggy Poker game?
We got it in the end and it looks really cool. It has pictures of pigs on it instead of humans!
This one is my favourite picture, isn't she pretty?

Flowers and cheese

This morning we had to go to a meeting and afterwards we came through the park.
The weather was lovely so we stopped to take this picture.

This afternoon we went into town and there we saw this mural.
Can you already see what it is?

Yup, it's a very dutch mural:
Two men carrying a whole bunch of cheeses.
