Another Book Avalanche

Today there were a big box and a smaller package in my mail.

First I opened the package.

It was Laura Bickle's newest book which released today!

Laura and Sparky send us a signed copy.
How awesome!

Thanks Laura & Sparky!

Next up was the big box!

Oh, I know who this is from now!
Time to find Voodoo Bride, because she'll want to see it as well.

It turned out to be an awesome present from Jeffe Kennedy.
She and my owner are online friends and she send a box full of books and goodies for both me and Voodoo Bride.

Some fun buttons, including two of Rogue's Pawn, which is one of Jeffe's books and which is really cool! One of those will go on our noticeboard and the other will go on my owner's bag.

Voodoo Bride fell in love with this flower pen.
Jeffe also send a notebook and bookmarks with her books on them.

What an amazing present!

Thanks Jeffe!

If you don't hear from us in a while it's because we are reading ;-)

A Visit from Witje and Zombies

Yesterday Witje came to Groningen for a visit.
He brought along his student, who's still learning how to be a sheep, and he also brought his stuffed animal.

They also brought a boardgame called 'Last Night on Earth'.

It's a game with zombies!
Some of the players play heroes who have to escape the zombies, while other players can command the zombies who try to eat the heroes of course. I got to command the zombies!

Here the zombies are closing in on the heroes.
(the heroes are the grey miniatures.)
It was an overwhelming victory for the zombies!

In the evening Witje had to leave again and he took the zombie game with him. It was a fun day and I wouldn't mind playing that game more often I'll confess.

A Book and a Piggy Lamp

Yesterday I found First Grave on the Right in my mail.
It's a gift from Melliane and I'm looking forward to reading it.

Thanks Melliane!

Today we went shopping and I spotted this really cool lamp!
It's a reproduction of the lamp in the movie 'Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain', which is one of my favorite movies. Isn't it awesome?!

The Books Just Keep Coming

There were two more books in my mail today.

I pre-ordered The Raven Boys a while ago.
Even if I hadn't already read The Wolves Of Mercy Falls trilogy (which is beautiful) by Maggie Stiefvater I would still want this book just for its awesome cover!

Ann Aguirre send us a signed copy of the Polish version of Enclave!
Enclave is the most amazing Post-Apocalyptic Young Adult book I've read so far, so I'm very happy with this special collectors item. It's going on my keeper shelves and will be hugged and petted from time to time.

Thanks Ann!

Bookmarks!

I got cool mail today!
Amber from The Musings of ALMYBNENR send me bookmarks. I think they're really beautiful and the two small ones are just the right size for some of our mini picture books.

Thanks Amber!

Avalanche of Books

Yes, I know!
I've been a slacker again when it comes to regular posting.
But I had a good reason!

Outpost arrived this week!
I've been waiting for this book ever since reading Enclave, the first book in the Razorland series. It's an awesome Young Adult series set in a Post-Apocalyptic world. I had to read Outpost immediately of course. And it was a great read! I even lost sleep over it because I just couldn't put it down.

And yesterday even more books arrived!

Riveted is the third book in the Iron Seas series. It's a Steampunk Romance. We read the first two books with mixed results (first was awesome, second was meh) so we're curious about this one.

Head Rush is the amazing conclusion of Carolyn Crane's Disillusionists Trilogy. I already read this book as an ebook, but we had to have the print version so I can pet and hug it. (Yes, it's that awesome!)

Glitch is a Dystopian Young Adult read. It's about a world where people have computer chips installed in their heads to control their thoughts and emotions. Very curious about it (thanks to Doodle for this one)

And lastly A Blood Seduction is a gift to Voodoo Bride. It's a Paranormal Romance featuring vampires.

Sandy Mail

There was a small package for me today.

It was from Sandy!
I won pewter at his Bear Olympics Staring Contest and got a medal and some cool stickers.

And I also got a beautiful postcard from Sandy.

Thanks Sandy!

I Got Some New Books

Today we went to the bookstore to spend the gift certificate we won. My owner picked Divergent (A Dystopian YA) because she is very curious about it. I picked POD. It's got alien pods that zap everyone in sight. The story is about two teens and how they handle the alien invasion. It sounds really cool and I can't wait to read it.

A Lottery and a Walk

My owner and me earned some lottery tickets because we worked extra hours the last few weeks. Today they had the lottery drawing.

And we won!
I wonder what's in the envelope.

A gift certificate!
How cool. My owner promised me we'll be spending the gift certificate at the bookstore this weekend.

After work we went on a walk.
I saw a spiderweb and we watched the sun going down.

Wasp and Mail

When looking through the pictures my owner made this Saturday I saw something scary:
A wasp secretly snuck onto my arm and into one of the pictures! I'm glad I didn't notice it at the time and only saw it after.

Yesterday I got a card from Meljean Brook notifying me that she had a new book out. I already pre-ordered the book a while ago and am waiting impatiently for its arrival.

A Trip to Drenthe

We went on a trip today.

My owner arranged a car and we drove for about 45 minutes to get away from the city and find a beautiful spot to walk.

We went to an area with large fields of heather.

Perfect for lounging in the sun.

I also found a big wooden xylophone.

Wow! It's beautiful here.

On our way back to the car we even had to cross a small stream.

It was a perfect afternoon.
