A Trip to the Zoo (part 1)

Today we went on a trip to the Zoo. We had to travel by bus to get there.

It was a long ride and I kept looking if we were close to the Zoo yet, but it took a long time.

My owner spend the time reading. I wish I'd brought my guitar or a book too.

I finally found a button with Stop on it. I pressed it and the bus stopped at just the right station.

We had to walk a short distance to the Zoo and on our way there we spotted this elephant.

Isn't it cool?

There were tons of elephants everywhere and they were all painted. It was some kind of elephant art show!

I really love this one, it's very beautiful.

And then we were at the Zoo!
First we visited the Prairie dogs.

This one was trying to dig a hole.

My owner took a picture from very close by, but she told me to stay away in case the Prairie dogs would try to kidnap me and drag me off into their burrow.

After seeing the Prairie dogs I saw a bear!!

And I noticed a distant relative, but he was distant in more ways than one.

Next up: more cool animals. Tune in tomorrow for part 2 of my trip to the Zoo.

Great zoo pictures! I'm partial to the one of the bear. Is that a grizzly bear? He is beary lucky, his habitat looks so natural. Can't wait to see what else you saw.

Those elephants are cool.

So, did you go "Wee! Wee! Wee!" all the way home on the bus? ;)

That zoo's prairie dogs have quite the enclosure. At the zoo down the road from us, they've got a box no bigger than a double bed. I feel sorry for them!

@Buttons & Marlowe: it was a Kodiak Bear
and the zoo we went to has really beautiful and large enclosures for all the animals and try to make the enclosures look as natural as possible.
@Demented Wench: *sigh* The bus didn't have any windows that could open and when I tried to go "Wee! Wee! Wee!" without hanging out of a window my owner told me to shut up as she was trying to read.
