A trip to Rome - I explore the Capitol

One thing we had to see during out trip to Rome was the Capitol, especially the Piazza del Campidoglio, which was designed by Michelangelo. If you're wondering about the color of the sky: I didn't use any filters on my pictures, the bright sun is to blame for the weird colors.

We had a good look around at Piazza del Campidoglio.

I spotted a statue of Romulus and Remus and the she-wolf who fed them!

It is said that the twins Romulus and Remus were thrown in a river as babies, but they survive and are found by a she-wolf who feeds them. Later they are found by farmers who foster them. When they're grown they want to build a city, but can't agree on the spot. Romulus then kills Remus to get his way and builds Rome on his own.

Some Roman Goddess, I think.

Another Roman statue.

Romulus and Remus again.
The snout of the she-wolf broke off the statue though, making it a bit creepy.

We walked a bit further and found a spot with a great view on the Forum.

So many old columns and stones.
Amazing.

Stay tuned for more.
