I Travel to France - Day 1

On May 31st my owner woke me up very early. I thought it was much too early to be awake, so when I saw my owner had my travel case ready, I crawled inside for some more sleep.

When I woke up again I discovered we were on our way to France. We were traveling by car and even had a small trailer with luggage with us.

The sun was out so I took the opportunity to catch some sun before we traveled on.

We stopped at a really big grocery store to get some groceries.

And after a long day of traveling we reached our destination:
A lovely house in Normandy, France.

There were all kinds of flags outside the house.

We had to wait for the owner of the house to give us the key, so we decided to do some exploring.

We were close to the sea!
And there were even more flags there.

It turned out it was close to D-Day. On June 6th 1944 the allied forces landed on the coast of Normandy, and it was the start of the liberation of Europe from the German forces in WWII. The flags were part of the celebrations and memorials for D-Day. This year it's been 70 years ago!

There was a sculpture on the beach in memory of the fallen soldiers.

Me and my owner posing.
We were both very happy and excited to be in Normandy.

We took a walk across the beach of course to get closer to the ocean.

We had fun on the beach, but finally we had to go back to the house to meet the owner of the house.

Once inside we got to pick a bedroom.
This one had a really nice view.

And that bed looked very comfy!

It was!
It had been a long day of traveling, so I decided to wait with more explorations until the next day.
