The next day we went for a walk.

We found a small road leading towards the beach.

Chemin de what?
This could be getting difficult. There were all kinds of signs in French, and my French is almost non existent.

At the end of the small road was this building that was called Les Moulins. My French is good enough to know that it means: the mills. There must have been mills here in the past I think.

There was a WWII museum close to Les Moulins, and there was a tank!

Those wheel-thingies are huge.

I would have loved to get on the tank, but there was a note saying it wasn't allowed. Luckily they also wrote the warning in English, so we could understand.

There was also a jeep in front of the museum.

And some kind of canon.

That's one big canon!

Sullivan the Conqueror.

Next we walked further down the road to the beach.

Omaha Beach.
This is one of the most important beaches where in 1944 the allied forces landed. And we are staying in a house that's only a 15 minutes walk away from it. How cool!
Coming up next: The Beach!
