It was the birthday of one of our co-workers today and her desk was all decorated!

She brought yummie food to celebrate her birthday, like these 'slagroomsoesjes' (small pastry filled with whipped cream).

I got a 'koffieschuimpje' (Not sure how to explain what it is, it's some kind of sugary foam).

When I got home there was mail from Marlowe!
The stamp said it was send on december 14th! Wow, it took a month to get to me.

It was a beautiful Christmas card and two great pictures that Marlowe's Mom took. One is of Neil Gaiman (Marlowe's Mom got to meet him, I'm very jealous ;-) ) and the other is of Marlowe and Caleb. Isn't it an awesome picture!
Thanks Marlowe!

that sugary thing looks a bit like meringue. Except that's crunchy rather than foam. I had a meringue in Lille last year, they're yummy!
Hmmm, could be meringue. It's crunchy foam: crunchy to the feel, but immediately melts when it gets wet.
Treats at work. Treat at home. What a wonderful day for Piggy! :)
what yummy birthday treats!
and yay for the gaiman pic!
have you seen this gaiman video...

Those pastries look amazing!
I've been getting lots of mail too.
Yeah, that sounds like meringue. Made with egg white and sugar I think, and then baked in the oven. I'm not sure if they melt when wet but they DO melt in the mouth!!
Wow-- that took a very long time to get to you! And I sent them all at the same time. Oh well. I'm glad you liked the pictures.
