Cool Poster and Halloween Party

Look what I got in the mail today:
A really cool poster from The Heir of Night! I won it over at the blog of Helen Lowe, the author of the book.

And I also got an Orbit button!

Tonight we're having a Halloween Party. Because of all the painting and stuff I didn't have time for making a costume, but there will be pumpkins and pumpkin soup.

Candy, Mail and Paint

Today one of our co-workers brought Halloween candy to work!!

Look how cool it is! And it was tasty as well.

When I got home there was another package waiting for me.

It was the Halloween 'Poisoned' Candy Bag that I won at Sweet Vernal Zephyr. It wasn't really poisoned of course, it was a bag full of bookmarks, sampler booklets and other cool stuff.

There was even some real candy and a cool Halloween card. I'm really happy with my prize. Thanks SVZ ;-)

We started the painting in our house. The kitchen is coming along very nicely.

And we're very fortunate we got great friends who help us out!

Mail and a Pig with a Bug

I got even more mail from Hammie yesterday! When we went to our renovated house to see what needed to be done I found this lovely card.

And this morning there was yet another card!

It was from Beanie, Bob T. Bear and Dilly!
They got to meet up! How cool.

At work I met a distant relative. He caught the travel bug and is always on the road to try to reach new destinations. One of my owner's collegues is helping him on his quest to travel to exciting new places. I think he's very brave, I wouldn't want to travel with just a bug, I need my owner with me.

Hammie Mail!

There was even more mail today! It was for me and Coco.

It turned out to be from Hammie. He send us a beautiful Mandala card made by G.

And Stroopwafels!
Stroopwafels are some kind of cookies with syrup between them, like maple syrup but made out of beet-sugar if I'm not mistaken.

And there was a brilliant piggy ice scoop. I love it!

And:
A small piggy bank just like the ones I saw when we were in town a couple of weeks ago! It even had a coin in it for good luck.

Pigs and Zombies

Yesterday afternoon I saw a program on tv that had these pigs in it!

Today there were two packages for me!
They contained books that I had won over at vvb32 reads. Velvet always has the most amazing giveaways over at her blog I can tell you.

One of the books is 'Feed' by Mira Grant. It's about zombies!! I really look forward to reading it.

The other book is 'The Iron Duke' by Meljean Brook. I know it looks kind of romancy, with the bare chested guy on the cover, but I also got high hopes for this one as it got zombies too and it has Steampunk as well!

Thanks Velvet! I'm very happy with my books.

Renovation and Mail

It's been rather quiet here the last few days, but today was a special day.

They finished the renovation of our house!!

Looks good on the outside. I wonder how the inside looks.

They put a new wall in our livingroom which makes it about 12 centimeters smaller. Not too happy with that, but they say it will be warmer and there will be less noise from the neighbours.

And I'm not entirely sure, but I do not think a window is supposed to look like this.

Ah, this is more like it.

All in all they did a nice job though, apart from the writing and weird spots and stuff. But we'll have a lot of work to do to get it all liveable again. Luckily we have a month to repaint and recarpet the house.

Just as we were about to leave to go back to our temporary house there was mail! The first mail after the renovation and it was for me!

So I took it with me and once we were at our temporary house I got out my letter opener.

It was a lovely Halloween card from Marlowe and his Mom!

Thanks Marlowe! It came at just the right moment!

Mail for Voodoo Bride and Me

Yesterday there was mail for me.

The package turned out to be a book I won for Voodoo Bride at the blog of Alice Audrey. It looks like a very girly book, but Voodoo Bride is all happy with it and already started reading it.

For me there was a cool boomark send by Cate Gardner. I won the bookmark as a consolationprice in a giveaway. Cate's book 'Strange Men in Pinstripe Suits' sounds very cool and I hope my owner will get it for me one of these days.
All in all cool mail for both me and Voodoo Bride!

Mexican Sunday

On Sunday we went out for dinner with a friend. While we were waiting for her we took some pictures.

We had wanted to go to a restaurant called Kult, but it turned out they were totally booked so instead we went to a Mexican restaurant.

I got to taste guacamole and tortilla chips.

And after dinner I got hot chocolate!
It was a fun evening with tasty food.
