Bridge and Speculaas!

We went into town for some shopping today and took this picture on one of the bridges near the city center.

The bridge has 4 statues on it and this one is my favourite.

When we got home my owner decided we would make speculaaskoekjes (a sort of gingerbread cookies). She had bought a box of speculaas mix where you only had to add water to make the cookie dough.

After making the cookie dough it had to be made flat with a rolling pin.

I tried to help with the flattening too, but the rolling pin was very heavy.

Now this is more like it!
I got to cut out the cookies.

We made lots of cookies and my owner's OH even made a McPig cookie!

Isn't it cool?!

Waiting impatiently for the cookies to be ready to take out of the oven.

And finally here they are!

They taste delicious I can tell you, allthough I havent yet eaten the McPig cookie as I think it's too beautiful.

Yummie! speculaas! You're right that you didn't eat the McPig cookie, it's too beautiful to eat! We didn't know that there was a box like that to make speculaas. We are going to bake tomorow, we are going to make kruidkoek.
And, don't want to forget: We want to thank you and your owner and her OH for the lovely postcard of Amsterdam that arrived today! I'll make a post about it tomorow because we're going to visit our friends this evening to play some games (like the pirategame we played last time, we're taking our regenwormen game too). Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

oh... forgot something: The statue on that bridge is G.'s favorite too, she made a picture from it for their website: www.beeldvangroningen.nl (titel: brug over de noorderhaven in case you want to take a look :-)!)! Isn't it funny that she chose the same one?

@Hammie: I took a look and I love the picture G. took. All pictures on the site were beautiful I must say. And it's funny indeed that G. and me nad my owner like the same statue indeed, but i got the feeling we got more things in common like Schier, Calvin and Hobbes so maybe not too surprising after all.
