A Trip to Paris - More Bones - Day 3, part 5

I really enjoyed looking at all the stuff at Galerie de paléontologie et d'anatomie comparée.

I even played around with my Fish-Eye lens.

Not sure what it is, but it looks like a cool animal.

A mammoth, I think.

And some kind of sloth.

Another view from above.

Some cave painting reproductions.

There were lots of fossils, with pictures above them to explain about them.

Isn't this one fun?!

After visiting the museum we had something to drink and talked for a while with Melliane and her friend. Finally we said goodbye and went back to our hotel, because we were a bit tired after such a long, but fun day.

We got yummy food at a Chinese/Vietnamese takeaway restaurant close to our hotel.

And after a good meal and a nice bottle of beer I went to sleep, dreaming about all the cool things I had seen, and about all the stuff I wanted to do the next day.

A Trip to Paris - Bones - Day 3, part 4

After visiting the Grand Galerie de l'Évolution we took a walk in the gardens.

After our walk we met up with Melliane and one of her friends.
We decided to visit another museum at Jardin des Plantes with the four of us.

Galerie de paléontologie et d'anatomie comparée
A museum full of skeletons!

This museum was creepy cool!

I think this is the skull of one of my ancestor.

A view at the skeletons from above.

At the next floor they had dinosaurs!

How cool!

This looks like it's a dinosaur version of a crocodile.

This showed how dinosaur bones got discovered and dug up I think.

Prehistoric fish.

Another cool museum.
I will show you more pictures tomorrow.

A Trip to Paris - Yet More Animals - Day 3, part 3

We just couldn't get enough of the Grand Galerie de l'Évolution. It was so impressive in my opnion.

I found more pigs!

A view of the parade from the back.

Another light change.
Now the ceiling was multi-colored!

Me and my owner at the top floor of the museum.

This pelican was really beautiful I think.

I spotted a cool emergency exit sign.

This crocodile (or alligator, I can't tell them apart) had a really strange nose.

There was a giraffe on the top floor looking down on the parade.

This fish is a coelacanth I think.

Another view on the parade.

I think this was showing the different plant and animal families.

A picture of a grumpy unicorn.
Under the squares in the picture you could see what animals the unicorn resembles.

Lastly we visited the gift shop of the museum, and I got to pick a souvenir.
I chose this bookmark with a Dodo on it.

A Trip to Paris - More Animals - Day 3, part 2

We spend a few hours at the Grand Galerie de l'Évolution.
I took lots of pictures of that surreal animal parade.

This elephant was at the front of the parade.

My owner spotted hippos and we had to be in the picture with one of the hippos of course.

Look at those teeth!

The ceiling had glass panes with colored light that kept changing, adding to the surreal feel of the parade. There were also animal sounds and sometimes sounds of rain and thunder.

This elephant wasn't in the parade, but relaxing next to a staircase.

And this one had an angry tiger on top of him.

A view on the parade from the next floor up.

See: the ceiling changed colors!

There was also an exhibit about rare and extinct animals.
This is the Dodo.

It must have been a really cool bird from the looks of it.

There was a story about how the Dodo became extinct.
I'm afraid the Dutch had a lot to do with it.

There was a room full of mounted animals of rare, endangered and extinct animals.
This is another bird that I think looks cool.

And there was a tiger as well.

In between all the picture taking and looking at all the animals we had lunch at the museum, but the picture I took of the delicious chocolate cake I had didn't turn out well.

Tomorrow I will show you even more pictures of this exhibit.
