Viva Espana

This week it's Spain Week at the catering service. Meaning that besides the normal food we sell there, we also sell special Spain themed food, lots of olives and stuff like that.

We also play music to create a certain spanish mood. I must say this music is a relief as usually the tv is on an tuned in on soaps or something like that.

Signs and Cows

First I want to say thanks you to everyone for the nice comments on my new header. I'm very pleased with it myself too I must say. My owner's OH/partner made it for me.

Yesterday we took a walk and I wanted to show this sign as I think both Eve and Marie will like it. It's a sign you see often when you're in the country as it warns people there might be cattle crossing the street on their way to the meadow or on the way home. this particular sign has a lot of damage to it, it looks like someone shot at it.

More signs and a small bridge.

I showed a sign telling people that dogs didn't have to wear a leash awhile back. This sign is the opposite and tells you that your dog should be on a leash. The sign above it tells that this path is a bicycle path and the top two signs tell you which way to go if you want to go to Groningen or Wierumerschouw or Garnwerd.

More pictures for Marie: I hope Coco will post his picture of this cow too as it may look harmless on these pictures, but me and Coco think it was a killer cow.

A sign to warn people that the fence is electrified.

The Pig Book

I told you I got a book from my owner when we were on Schiermonnikoog and here it is:
The Pig Book!
It's about pigs as you can guess. There's stories about pigs in mythlogy and folklore, pigs in the arts, trivia about pigs and:

Pigs in literature!
I couldn't help posting a picture of Alice with a pig for Eve

Creepy and Cool stuff

Today we visited an antiques and curiosity shop.
They had really weird and creepy stuff like this skeleton.

And butterflies: creepy and beautiful I think.

Not so creepy, but cool: Star Wars toys!

I loved this wind up toy of a bird, but way too expensive to buy it unfortunately.
And that's one scary monkey on the right, I must say.

On our way home we passed this nice red caravan with white tomatoes on it.
Hmmm..... would have been more logical, but less beautiful if it had been the other way around.

I also saw another pig on our way home, he was hanging over a curtain-cord and it looked very uncomfortable...

Greetings from Saskatchewan - a post by Moira

Hello Sullivan and followers of Sullivan's blog! Here's another update from me, Moira, about my life with Marie and her family in Canada.

Here we are in Regina, capital of Saskatchewan.
Princess and I are pictured here in front of Wascana Lake.

Another of Princess and I

This is me in front of the Legislative Building and Gardens.

Princess and I in a car made completely of LEGO!!

In my own car getting ready to race!

I WON!!

A dinosaur exhibit at the Science Center.
This is just a hint of what's to come though!!

In the teeth of some creature that lived thousands and thousands of years ago.
I would be nothing but a bit of food stuck between!

Huge statue and it was weird! He was all head with a little body and huge hands....

On our way home, it was a long drive....

but I can see why Marie loves Saskatchewan so much! It is a very pretty landscape!

Had to show you this picture of a cloud.
It looked like a hippo to me with its mouth open!

Cross Stitching A-Kerk and Bike thingie

I haven't been doing anything interesting these last view days and this is why: my owner was stitching like crazy to finish this fairy she's been stitching on the last couple of months. It's not my taste, but Voodoo Bride loves it.

This afternoon my owner and I went into town to have a drink with someone and we did some shopping. Here you can see the tower of the A-Kerk (A-Church), a church in the center of the city.

When we got back to our bike someone had put this saddle thingie on it! It's some kind of Groningen promotion thing as this week a lot of new students have arrived in the city to start the new college and university year.

New Friends

Today we got two new housemates: Das and Ratty.
Not sure if Das is the real name of the badger, but as he hasn't provided us with another name sofar we decided to call him Das (dutch word for badger) until we know his real name.
