It's already May and I still haven't finished recounting my adventures in January! Sullivan says these are strange times, so I shouldn't worry too much bout it, but still.
So today I bring you the last part of our January Trip, and I'll try to post a bit more regularly from now on.
Where were we....
Ah, that's right: we were at the Orchid Farmstead which also had lots and lots of animals.
Like these meerkats.
I think they're fun animals. Very inquisitive as well.
There was also a big aquarium with fish.
One of them thought we were interesting to watch as well. Maybe he thought we were an exhibit meant to entertain him.
Next we saw flamingos!
I just love flamingos. They look so regal and festive at the same time.
This is an alpaca I think. She was very mellow.
Night of the Living Dead Kangaroo!
It was just a statue luckily enough, but a creepy one, I think.
There were ring-tailed lemur as well, but they thought it was much too cold on their open air island so they were chilling indoors.
Next we sat down in a beautiful indoor flower garden for something to eat.
After lunch we went back to the Loris, because feeding them was so much fun!
Such colorful birds.
Finally we left the farmstead after looking around their store. Lots of beautiful things, but we only bought a few cards.
Next we went on an excursion into the wilds of the Noordoostpolder. Our owner was born in this region of the Netherlands, but she was only a few months old when she moved, so she had never seen the place she was born (that she could remember at least).
We found the street she was born easily enough. There were meadows and farmland all around.
And here it is! Our owner wasn't 100% sure, because some houses in the street were gone and new ones had been build, but most probably this is the house she was born! So cool to see where she came from.
After this trip into the past we went back to Germany, where we had a really fun evening with yummy food together with Diana. We would return home the next day. Time had gone fast. After breakfast and getting all our stuff packed, Diana drove us back to Groningen.
In Groningen we had lunch together.
Diana had a weird bluish drink that looked pretty.
I managed to convince my owner to get hot chocolate. It was very yummy!
After lunch and drinks Diana drove us to our home where we said goodbye. It was an awesome trip, and I hope we get to visit her again somewhere in the future, when things are less crazy than they are right now.
