There was a zombie book in my mail today!
It was a surprise gift from aLmYbNeNr.
How cool!

And there was more mail from Beanie as well!

It was another beautiful card made by Beanie himself.

And it had a really cool button inside!

I got a card from Hammie today!
He's been to Schiermonnikoog for a few days. Schiermonnikoog is a beautiful island to visit and I hope we'll visit it again this year as well.

A Magic Tournament

Yesterday we finally went to do something fun.
We went to the station and took a bus to Assen to take part in a Magic: The Gathering Tournament.

I only play this game once a year and am always surprised by how much new rules and cards there are each year.

Of the four games I played I won only one game, so I didn't get to take home the trophy. I can dream though and hope I will win it one day.

Bare Chested Man in My Mail

I had a book in my mail today that was send to me by Michelle as a Random Act of Kindness.
I'm not too fond of the cover (I'll have to keep it away from Voodoo Bride or she'll drool all over it), but I already read three books in this series and the stories are awesome, so I'm looking forward to reading this one.

I'm Still Alive

Nothing much happening in my life at the moment.
Just work, reading, drooling over the Mass Effect 3 Demo and stuff like that.

I hope to have something interesting to tell about soon.

Bookmarks

I had bookmarks in the mail today!
(Well, officially yesterday as it's past midnight now.)

I got them from Linda Poitevin.
She send me some for me and some to give to friends.

One side shows the cover of 'Sins of the Angels', book one of The Grigori Legacy (awesome book!) and the other side shows the cover of book 2, 'Sins of the Son'.

I especially love the cover of 'Sins of the Son'. Book 2 isn't out yet, but I'm looking forward to reading it.

Valentine's Day

Yes, I know!
I totally forgot to post yesterday, but I was too busy playing the Mass Effect 3 Demo that released yesterday.

Anyway:

My owner's OtherHalf bought us some really cool egg-holder thingies (not sure what you call them in English). I think they're awesome.

And he gave my owner this beautiful card.

A Trip to the Coast

Today we made a trip to the coast.
We had heard that because of the cold weather parts of the sea had frozen over so we wanted to see if that was true of course.

Here you see a canal that ends in the sea. It was indeed frozen.

Doesn't look safe to walk on though.

So we walked a bit closer to the sea.

And here I am!
Standing on a sea of ice, literally.

The ice looked very uneven and bubbly, but my owner told me that there was only a little bit of water underneath this ice, so even if the ice would break we wouldn't drown, just get our feet wet.

And look what I found:
It seems a bird tried to sit on the ice and got frozen to it. When he got free he left behind some of his feathers.

After a long walk on the ice we had a nice hot drink.

Cthulhu Hat, Paris and a Book

Today I saw this beautiful picture of Paris in the newspaper. I really want to go there some day. I'm already trying to save money for a trip.

When I got home there was bookish mail waiting for me.
I won this book in a giveaway over at ReaWrite. Looking forward to read it.

Winter Fun

Today we went for a walk in the snow.

In the park we saw lots of ducks.
They are brave birds to face the cold without even a nice warm hat.



We clearly weren't the only ones taking a walk in the snow.



I spotted a blue heron with an icicle on his neck.

And a field full of these beautiful plants.

And a snowangel on the ice!
I wanted to make a snowangel too, but my owner said I would get all wet and catch a cold, so I wasn't allowed to make one.

All in all we had lots of fun on our walk and saw some beautiful things.

Snow and an Attempt at a Snowpig

When I woke up this morning it was snowing!
There was already lots of snow on the ground and it kept on snowing too. I hope it will snow all day!

I ran outside...

And made a tumble in the snow.

After my fall I went to get one of my hats to keep my ears warm and I tried to build a Snowpig. But the snow wasn't really sticking together unless you pressed it really hard, so my snowpig building attempts weren't very successful.

After the Snowpig debacle I went inside for hot chocolate.

When my owner and me go to work this afternoon I will try to take some more pictures of all this beautiful snow.
