Schiermonnikoog - part 2

Today part 2 of my trip to Schiermonnikoog

After my owner and her OH had a swim and I had my well deserved rest, we walked back to our bikes and on the way we saw these lovely flowers.

A view of the dunes as seen from the beach. From here we went back to the village to get something more to eat and drink. After that it was on to:

The red Lighthouse of Schiermonnikoog!
I can understand why Hammie loves this lighthouse so much as it is very beautiful. (Useless fact: My owner once stitched a lighthouse that looked very much like this one.)

I think the blue sky and the red lighthouse really look amazing together.

The view of the dunes and the sea in the distance when you're standing next to the lighthouse.

And turning the other way I spotted an ice cream cart!
The people who live next to the lighthouse decided that they might as well make some extra money from all those tourists who visit the lighthouse, so they sell ice cream and drinks in front of their house.

One last picture of me and my owner and the lighthouse before we were off to the ice cream cart to get some ice cream.

Next stop was another really beautiful spot: the edge of the forest, where it turns into dunes. Here we had a nice rest and enjoyed the shade after all that sun.

I love trees, they are amazing I think.

There didn't use to be pinetrees on Schiermonnikoog: the pinetrees were planted at the beginning of the last century. I must say I'm glad they planted them.

Don't you agree that a pinecone is just beautiful!

Don't forget to check my blog tomorrow when I will post the third and final part of my trip to Schiermonnikoog!

Wow!
I really am at Schiermonnikoog now! Thank you so much for the lovely pictures, specially the ones of the red lighthouse!!!! I just heard of G. and Harr that we are going to Schiermonnikoog too next week!!!. We will go there as a present for Harr's sister and her husband (ofcourse we'll go together with them otherwise it would be a strange present ;-) ). Is there a place that you would like to see on my blog? Just say so, then we can make a picture for you and your owner too!
Bye!

I totally agree trees and pine cones are amazing and beautiful, respectively, and that light house is lovely.
